In this video, I'm going to show you how to replace the vapor canister vent valve. I do it on here, on this 2005 Nissan Maxima. This vent valve does work for a bunch of different Nissan, as well as Infiniti Sedans. The only tools you'll need are jack and jack stands. You'll need to jack up and secure the rear of the vehicle, in order to get to the vent valve. This is your driver's side rear wheel, and you come right up underneath. Here's your fuel tank, and then the rear suspension component, and then right up here is the valve. Here is the hose going into it and the connection up here. Basically, you reach in and you turn it this way, then rotate it, and then it pulls out.
I can't really film this too well, but I've got it back up in there. It's easier to pull the hose off actually, with it up in place. I've got the hose off. Now here, I'm basically trying to work the electrical connection off. A lot of times what happens is they get sand jammed in them. There is just a little lever that's at the top, that you need to press down to unlock it. You'll see I finally get it after a little bit of work. Then it comes off. Now you can take your new one from 1A Auto. Try and film this best I can. Put it up in there, at an angle. Work it in until it goes in. Twist it and walk it in place. Reconnect your connector. You need to reconnect your hose. Push the hose back on there. Then the hose came out a little bit. It just goes back into the body like that.
We hope this helps you out. Brought to you by www.1AAuto.com. Your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the internet. Please feel free to call us toll free: 888-844-3393. We're the company that's here for you on the internet and in person.
