Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
This video is a little bit of a how-to as well as a product review. This Audi A4 has the aluminum wheels with covers, what they want you to avoid doing is using a screwdriver and trying to pry the outside of the cap. If you did it very carefully, you could do it without damaging your wheels, but if you did it on a repeated basis, you would end up scratching your wheels. What they actually carry for the car, and 1A, we sell this, this is the special tool to remove the center caps.
On the center cap there's a little hole, put it into the hole that's in the center of the cap, push it in, and turn it so that you can just grab on and pull.
Then this may be, in my opinion, a little bit of over-engineering, but just to make sure that you put the cap on correctly, you can see that there are slots in the wheel and they're not evenly spaced. There's a larger space here, smaller space here, so obviously on the back of the cap, same thing, there's tabs spaced. Find your larger space and your larger space on here, and line them up so that would be on the bottom.
Then I basically kind of peek in the back and look at this tab and make sure it lines up with that slot, and then give it a little bit of a tap, and put it on.
Again, at 1A Auto we sell the correct tool and we highly recommend you use it if you don't have anything else, but if you did have a 90 degree pick in your toolbox, you can use that as well. Use substitutes if you would like, but you can always order the correct tool next time you order from 1AAuto.com.
Thanks for tuning in. We hope this video helped you out. Next time you need parts for your car, please visit 1AAuto.com. Also check out our other helpful how-to and diagnosis videos.
