Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the crank case breather hose. This is a 2007 Audi A4 with the 2.0-liter engine, and this breather hose is the same for the 4-cylinders in all of these A4s. No tools are required, although you may want to have a pair of pliers handy to help you put the new one on. You'll also need a new crank case breather hose from 1AAuto.com.
We'll remove your engine cover. Pull up firmly, and the breather tube is right here. To remove the breather tube, basically on this one, you squeeze from the side and pull, and this one closer to the engine, you squeeze top and bottom and pull.
The part that we removed from the vehicle and the new part from 1A Auto, you can see they're exact. I guess the new one probably is a little bit longer, but it's going to go in there, it's going to install exactly like the original.
A little bit of engine oil, put them into the tubes, just for some lubrication, and the new one, when you install it, you're going to feel it's a whole lot tighter. The O-rings are in better shape, it's going to press in there, and it's going to be a little more difficult to get it to snap. Get one side on, slide the other side in, just because it's kind of buried in there, a little bit of a tough angle, I'm just going to grab on with a pair of pliers. I'm not going to squeeze tight or anything, but just help me to pull it onto the hose. Reinstall your engine cover.
Thanks for tuning in. We hope this video helped you out. Next time you need parts for your car, please visit 1AAuto.com. Also check out our other helpful how-to and diagnosis videos.
